A Message from Big Mike...
I wanted to personally thank every person, business, and band who participated in and attended the two events I planned recently!
The Locks of Love broadcast was a HUGE success...with 24 people who showed up to donate their locks. Thank you to Nicole, Riley, and Robert at Postmark'd office supply who were kind to open their doors and let KLBJ broadcast there. To Austin Fit Wellness, Mangieri's Pizza Cafe and Chick Fil-A, thank you for you donations. Miss Virginia and Miss Tina from Artist's Hair Studio for cutting ALL that hair. THE BIG MIKE BIG ROCK BUFFET was AMAZING. Four bands donated their time and kick-ass live music to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. Between the cover charge, poster sales and guitar raffle...almost $1000 dollars will go to cancer research! Thanks to Heath and the Red Eyed Fly staff for providing the venue. To the bands Butcherwhite, Elvis on Speed, Black Earth, and Big Balls...you guys ROCKED the whole night. My buddy Billy Perkins not only sang his heart out, but also created the show poster. Look for his Penhead Designs in a poster art book near you. Billy at South Austin Music donated a brand new Alvarez acoustic for raffle - thank you so much! And to Mac at MooDog who did the eBay auctions...thank you for your help.
